Google has today announced its backing for Race2Recovery, the group of injured soldiers aiming to become the first disability team to complete the Dakar Rally. Google has offered the Race2Recovery team significant financial support to help benefit their final preparations ahead of their challenge.

Pete Garlick, a long time supporter of Race2Recovery, took on a huge challenge to raise £1648.72 for our nominated charity Help for Heroes and Tedworth House. In September he walked an incredible 150 miles from QT Wildcat in Plymouth, where our fantastic cars are built, all the way to Tedworth House in Tidworth, Wiltshire.
Lisa Minto, Finance Manager at our sponsor Orange Plant, raised a fantastic £500 for our charity Tedworth House by competing in The Great North Run 2012. She took part in the 13 mile run wearing a bright orange T-shirt, kindly provided by Orange Plant, and finished in a time of 2 hours 10 minutes.
Race2Recovery Official Supporter Cooper Tire Europe auctioned three unique ‘art tyres’ on eBay with all proceeds being donated to Tedworth House – Help for Heroes’ flagship recovery centre. The auction raised over £1000 for charity and saw a flurry of late bids to secure these fantastic artworks.

Paul Davis, of Cranfield University Motorsport Club, held a Motorsport themed evening on 3rd August and has raised £1102 for Race2Recovery.
Claire Todd held a wonderful ball in Ballymena braving the superstition of Friday 13th July and raised over £2,200 for charity. By all accounts it was a great success and Phillip was on hand to talk about his experiences and how Race2Recovery has been the challenge he needed to prove to himself and others that there really is life after injury.
Dave Banner and the Association of Land Rover Clubs held their Nationals weekend at Belvoir Castle in early June and raised more than a staggering £3,500 for the Race2Recovery Charity where the proceeds go to Tedworth House and Help for Heroes. One of the highlights of the auction held on the Saturday night was a limited edition print of Race2Recovery by Louise Limb (see pic).
